Business Aviation positions itself for future

As part of the overall development strategy for Cambridge Airport and Marshall Business Aviation(MBA), it has been decided to bring together all business aviation-related activities under themanagement of Steve Jones, Managing Director, MBA/MEA.For practical purposes, this will include the overall responsibility for the development of businessaviation strategy, the management of business aviation, hangars and ramp facilities and the FBO (fixedbase operations) which is currently franchised operationally to ExecuJet.The Airport will continue to be responsible for the on-going supply of Airport Services, the care andmaintenance of the facilities and the custodian of strategic airport development projects.Marshall Aerospace appointed Steve Jones as Managing Director of Business Aviation (MBA) and sistercompany the business charter arm Marshall Executive Aviation (MEA) in May this year. Prior to joiningMarshalls Steve was General Manager of Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi and prior to thatserved as Managing Director at Oxford Airport where he oversaw the launch of the Oxfordjet FBO.Steve Jones commented: “This change is designed with our customers in mind and supports the plan togrow our overall business aviation traffic and create an important and successful business aviation hub.Through dedicated management focus, our existing activities will be combined and optimised, allowingfor new products to be developed and launched within a high quality, 'one stop shop' concept.”“It is very pleasing to see this natural progression of our service which is being carried out solely withour customers in mind,” said Robert Marshall, Marshall Group Chief Executive.Marshall Aerospace, one of the country’s longest established aerospace firms, established in 1937, hasan extensive array of type approvals recognised by national and international authorities, airlines,airframe manufacturers and defence agencies, enabling the organisation to design and certifymodifications and perform maintenance on a number of civil and military platforms.
